According to Ramayana and other Puranas, Lord Shri Ram was born in 5114 BC. The people of Ayodhya love Lord Shri Ram very much. Shri Ram was the son of King Dasharatha of Ayodhya. Lord Shri Ram is also called the incarnation of Vishnu. Not only this, due to his special works he is also called Maryada Purushottam.

A grand Hindu Ram temple is being built at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya, which, according to the Ramayana, is the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, the principal deity of Hinduism. The construction of the Shri Ram temple is being supervised by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. The Bhoomi Pujan ritual was performed by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 5 August 2020 and the construction of the temple started rapidly.

    #History: Ram Janmabhoomi

Sri Rama is a widely worshiped Hindu king, considered to be an incarnation of Hari Vishnu. According to the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya. It is known as Ram Janmabhoomi or the birthplace of Ram. In the 15th century, the Mughals built the Babri Masjid on the Ram Janmabhoomi. Hindus believe that a mosque was built after the Hindu temple was demolished. This dispute became violent in the 1850s itself.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad had announced that it would lay the foundation stone of the temple in the disputed area, even before this the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court had ordered a ban on it. Later, Rajiv Gandhi's ministry permitted VHP to lay the foundation stone and then Home Minister Buta Singh immediately permitted VHP leader Ashok Singhal ji. Initially, the Central and State governments had agreed to hold the foundation stone laying ceremony outside the disputed site.

A group of leaders and sadhus laid the foundation stone on 9 November 1989 by digging a 7 cubic foot pit on the disputed land. Singhdwar was established here. Kameshwar Chaupal (a Dalit leader from Bihar) became one of the first to lay the foundation stone. When the demolition of Babri Masjid took place in December 1992, the dispute turned violent. Various ownership and legal disputes also occurred, such as the passing of the Ayodhya Ordinance, 1993 for the acquisition of certain areas. In 2019, the Supreme Court ruled on the Ayodhya dispute that the disputed land should be handed over to the trust formed by the government. The trust that has been created was Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerthkshetra.

It was announced in Parliament on 5 February 2020 that the Modi Ministry has accepted a plan for the construction of the temple. The temple deity, Ram Lalla, was the plaintiff in the court case over this dispute since 1989. He was represented by senior VHP leader Triloki Nath Pandey, who was considered to be the next 'human' friend of Ram Lalla.

According to Ramayana, Ayodhya was founded by Manu. This Puri was situated on the banks of Saryu, whose length was twelve yojanas (about 144 km) and width was three yojanas (about 36 km). Ayodhya is a city of Hindu temples. This city remained the capital of Suryavanshi kings for many centuries. According to Skandapuran, on the banks of Saryu, there is another city of Ayodhya full of divine beauty like Amravati. Relics related to the Hindu religion can be seen here even today.
